I am trying to build a city on an irregular shape and keep getting this error. I tried a basic circle and ellipse when my other shape failed and it does it on those also.

Is this a feature request or a defect?

It is bigger than the entire grid, is that allowed? I need a fairly large city to do what I am working on.

hm that was very strange. And you have 0.32 version?

First off, turn on show edged faces in max (F4), then you can see the "streets" after you have pressed setup.
Secondly, building that big area in one go will slow it down, try to break it up in smaller parts first, something like the grid outer area.

Btw: did you scale that area up?

I did set edged faces on and it was always totally blank. Did not scale, I know not to do scaling. I also flattened the modifier stack to just an editable spline and got the same result.

I'll try breaking up my shape. I realize it will be slow to build that large and that's ok, memory and video performance isn't an issue on my workstation. I just can't get it to build.

Yes, def v0.32. Even though you need to update the splash screen to say v0.32, the app UI does say the newest version. :)
